About Us

After unexpectedly losing Kit, we began honoring her with random acts of kindness done in her name. We used her gentle, happy nature as our inspiration and foundation. Our goal is to spread kindness, positivity and smiles with our acts of kindness.  We help children and families in need while promoting children's health, safety, education and mental well-being.

Kits Kindness has two main headquarters: Scott County, Kentucky, and Seminole County, Florida. However, we have members across the United States willing to help and participate whenever they are needed. Our acts of kindness are performed all over the United States. 

Kit was a happy and loving baby who lost her life unexpectedly in a very tragic accident. She was always smiling and brought joy to all who knew her. After her death, on what would have been her second birthday, her parents decided to perform a random act of kindness each day for a week and asked their friends and family to do the same. They wanted to bring happiness to others during a grief-filled time for them. 

Their friends and family came through. The week was so successful, and so many acts of kindness for Kit were performed, that the following year on her third birthday, her parents decided to make her birthday Kit's Kindness Day and ask everyone to perform random acts of kindness again. Friends, family, and even strangers, made Kit's Kindness day a huge day filled with random acts of kindness across the United States. Kit's family was so overwhelmed with how many people participated, they decided they should not limit Kit's Kindness to only one day a year. It was then they started the process of turning Kits Kindness into a nonprofit charity organization so they could help children and others throughout the year.

Every year on May 29th we celebrate our annual day of kindness in honor of Kit's birthday. Our goal is to spread positivity and smiles all over the United States. We ask that you perform a random act of kindness and encourage others to do the same.
